Salvadoran Technical Regulation (RTS) No. 13.05.02:26 Water. Non-domestic sewage water discharged into the sanitary sewer system of the National Authority for Water and Sewerage Systems (ANDA)

On 27 March 2026, the Government of the Republic of El Salvador notified, in document G/TBT/N/SLV/237, draft Salvadoran Technical Regulation (RTS) No. 13.05.02:26: Water. Non-domestic sewage water discharged into the sanitary sewer system of the National Authority for Water and Sewerage Systems (ANDA), which establishes the permissible limits for the quality parameters of non-domestic sewage water discharged, directly or indirectly, into the sanitary sewer system of ANDA or of private entities.

It applies to any natural or legal person, public or private, titleholder of any activity, work or project that discharges non-domestic sewage water, directly or indirectly, into the sanitary sewer system of ANDA or of private entities, located in the national territory.

The Regulation does not apply to sewage water discharged into recipient water bodies covered by the current version of the Salvadoran Technical Regulation entitled Agua. Aguas residuales. Parámetros de calidad de aguas residuales para descarga y manejo de lodos residuales (Water. Sewage water. Quality parameters for the discharge of sewage water and management of sludge).

WTO Members are advised that the deadline for submitting comments or observations has been extended to 30 June 2026.
