The draft Supreme Decree updates the technical parameters regarding intake recommendations for critical nutrients, including sugars, sodium and saturated fats, according to the recommendations established by WHO-OMP. It also allows advertising warnings for breast-milk substitutes and strained, chopped and processed cereal-based baby foods for children up to the age of two to be regulated within the scope of the Regulations implementing Law No. 30021, approved by Supreme Decree No. 017-2017-SA.

The amendments to Supreme Decree No. 017-2017-SA will enter into force 12 months after their publication in the Official Journal, El Peruano.
