On 27 February 2014, the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua notified, in document G/SPS/N/NIC/81, draft Nicaraguan Mandatory Technical Standard (NTON) No. 11 043-13: "Sustainable production. Oil palm. Provisions and requirements". The draft text sought to establish the technical provisions and guidelines for planting, managing, processing and/or experimenting with oil palm (Elaeis spp.) crops within the framework of a sustainable production system. The provisions apply to all public or private, natural or legal persons involved in planting, managing, processing and/or experimenting with oil palm (Elaeis spp.) crops.

WTO Members are hereby informed that the previously notified Technical Regulation has been updated by Addendum No. 2026-04, and accordingly a period of 30 days from the notification date is granted for the submission of comments and observations
