The notified draft Mexican Official Standard aims to establish criteria for the availability, analysis, preservation, preparation, supply and final disposition of corneal tissue for transplantation, in establishments holding a sanitary licence to operate corneal tissue banks for transplantation purposes, in order to ensure the viability and traceability of such tissue. It is mandatory throughout the national territory for all establishments holding a sanitary licence to operate corneal tissue banks for transplantation purposes.
