The purpose of this Mexican Official Standard is to identify transported hazardous substances and materials (hazardous goods), according to hazard class or division, subsidiary risks and UN number, and to establish the special provisions governing the transport of such substances and materials, the quantitative limitations with respect to limited quantities and excepted quantities, and the corresponding instructions regarding the use of packaging/containers, oversized packaging/containers, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), large containers and packages, portable tanks, multiple-element gas containers, bulk containers and the relevant special provisions.
