The notified draft Mexican Official Standard establishes the minimum energy efficiency values, test method, marking and conformity assessment procedure for air-cooled AC motors with a rated voltage of up to 240 V, and a rated output of 1 W or more, and less than 180 W, motors with 2, 4 or 6 poles, squirrel-cage induction motors, and electronically commutated motors, which are manufactured, imported or marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States. It establishes the relevant definitions, symbols, abbreviations, and specifications. It also establishes the conformity assessment procedure to determine the procedures to be followed and requirements to be met by certification bodies for products. This procedure applies to products that are manufactured, imported or marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States.
