Proposed Amendments to Border Inspection Regulation for Foods.
The Republic of Korea is proposing to amend the "Border Inspection Regulation for Foods". The amendment includes the following:
1. Exclusion of agricultural commodities which can be used either for food or for herbal medicine, from the list of commodities required for follow-up management during distribution;
2. Import declaration is not required for food imported after display in promotion event;
3. Adjustment on the kinds of pesticides for synchronized residue analysis of agricultural commodities, when those are imported for the first time; Adjustment of a list of commodities that the Minister of Food and Drug Safety has recognized as safe.
