MAFF is proposing to revise Article 45-3 of the Ministerial Ordinance for Enforcement of the Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Diseases Control to add teeth and tusks as designated quarantine items. As a result, the import of the said items will not be permitted without an appropriate health certificate issued by the animal health authority of the exporting country, and importers of the said items, would be required to notify the Animal Quarantine Service without delay.
