This Technical Regulation specifies the mandatory requirements for deformed and plain carbon steel bars used for concrete reinforcement, whether supplied as straight cut lengths or in coils. It covers requirements related to materials and manufacturing, chemical composition, transverse rib geometry and measurements, and mechanical properties including yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, and bending. The regulation also defines dimensional requirements, mass per unit length and permissible tolerances, as well as provisions for testing, sampling, number of tests and retesting, inspection procedures, rejection and appeal, marking, and labelling. This document aims to ensure the quality, safety, and fitness for use of carbon steel reinforcing bars in concrete structures.
