Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 387, dealing with dry mixtures for preparing soup. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follow:

  • Changes the requirements for food additives and allows for all foods defined in Public Health Protection Law (Food) 5775-2015;

  • Adds a reference to the Ministry of Health guidance document for food extracts (2015-06-24) to section 4.2.4 dealing with ingredients;

  • Deletes the requirement for the dish compliance;

  • Deletes the Kosher labeling requirements for packages larger than 150g;

  • Deletes few labeling requirements that are already included in Israel Mandatory Standard SI 1145;

  • Deletes the requirements for salt and ashes not dissolve in acid content and relevant test methods;

  • Adds a new requirement (section 4.4.1) for water activity (Aw) and relevant test methods (section 8.2);

  • Adds a new requirement for food contaminants (section 7);

  • Changes the microbiological requirements and the relevant test methods (section 4.5).
