SI 1964 part 1 - Safety valve: Safety valve and combined safety valve with check valve - Tests and requirements (6 pages in Hebrew and 17 pages in English); SI 1964 part 2 - Safety valve: Combined temperature and pressure relief valve - Tests and requirements (5 pages in Hebrew and 26 pages in English).

Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 1964, dealing with safety valves to be replaced with SI 1964 parts 1 and 2. These two draft standard revisions adopt the following European Standards:

1.   SI 1964 part 1 - Safety valve: Safety valve and combined safety valve with check valve - Tests and requirements, adopts the European Standard EN 1489: March 2000, with a few national deviations as follows:

  • Changes the normative references;

  • Adds a new definition for combined safety valve (section 3.8);

  • Adds new requirements to section 4.1 dealing with general materials and surface finishes including to comply with Israel Mandatory Standard SI 5452;

  • Adds a new requirement to sections 5 and 7 that the combined safety valve shall comply with Israel Standard SI 1171;

  • Removes sub-section 10.c;

  • Adds new marking requirements to section 11.

2.   SI 1964 part 2 - Safety valve: Combined temperature and pressure relief valve - Tests and requirements, adopts the European Standard EN 1490: March 2000, with a

few national deviations as follows:

  • Changes the normative references;

  • Adds new requirements to section 4.1 dealing with general materials and surface finishes, including to comply with Israel Mandatory Standard SI 5452;

  • Adds a new requirement to sections 5.3.1 that the connector shall have a thread complying with the International Standard ISO 7-1;

  • Adds new identification marking to section 11.2;

Both the old standard and these newly revised standards will apply from the date of entry into force for a period of 12 months. During this time, products may be tested according to the old or the new revised standard.
