Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 62040 part 1 dealing with Uninterruptible power systems (UPS).

This draft standard revision adopts both the International Standard IEC 62040-1 – Edition 2.0: 2017-07 and the American Standard UL 1778 - Fifth edition: 13 June 2014 with a few changes that appear in the standard's Hebrew section and allow for compliance with either.

Both Routes of compliance introduced in this new draft revision include national deviations as follows:

1.    Changes included in the International route of compliance (Chapter A):

·           Changes the normative references (paragraph 2);

·           Adds a new paragraph 5.201 dealing with EMC requirements;

·           Adds to paragraph 6 a requirement that the information and marking shall also be in Hebrew;

·           Adds to paragraph 6.3.101 new requirements that the sockets and outlets shall comply with Israel Mandatory standard SI 32 and that all UPS connection systems shall comply with Israel Mandatory standard SI 60320 part 1.

2.    Changes included in the American route of compliance (Chapter B):

·           Adds a new general national remark relating to the normative references;

·           Changes the wording and the requirements of paragraph 1.7.1.102;

·           Changes the wording and the requirements of paragraph 1.7.13.101;

·           Deletes the requirements of paragraph 2.6.3.3;

·           Changes the wording and the requirements of paragraph 2.6.101; 

·           Adds new paragraphs EEE.1.1.201 and EEE.1.1.202 to Annex EEE.
