Reglamento para la Producción, Procesamiento, Comercialización, Registro y Control de la Agricultura Orgánica (Regulation on the production, processing, marketing, registration and control of organic agriculture)

The Republic of Honduras hereby advises that the "Regulation on organic agriculture", notified on 3 December 2007 in document G/SPS/N/HND/17, has been amended and updated, and is now entitled "Regulation on the production, processing, marketing, registration and control of organic agriculture".

The Regulation's technical, administrative and legal provisions seek to:

1.    Regulate the production, processing and marketing of organic products by establishing rules for the different stages of these processes, including product certification;

2.    Establish control mechanisms for and ensure the integrity of organic products;

3.    Ensure that all the stages involved in the production, processing, preparation, storage, transport, labelling, national marketing, export and import of organic products are in compliance with this Regulation.

The Regulation applies to the production, processing, marketing and certification of processed and unprocessed plant products, in accordance with the principles and provisions set out therein.

Please note, therefore, that the Regulation has been updated and that there will be a comment period of 60 days as from the date of this notification.
