The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by distribution transformers, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human safety and the environment, and preventing deceptive practices.
It applies to the following products:
· Pole-mounted, substation, pad-mounted, submersible and dry-type distribution transformers.
· Single-phase transformers having a power handling capacity between 3 kVA and 167 kVA, with a medium-voltage insulation class not exceeding 34.5 kV and low-voltage insulation class not exceeding 1.2 kV.
· Three-phase transformers having a power handling capacity between 15 kVA and 2,000 kVA.
