The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by pumps for industrial processes, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with a view to protecting human safety and preventing deceptive practices. It applies to centrifugal pumps for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries.

It does not apply to:

·         Pumps for fire-fighting systems

·         Positive-displacement pumps
