The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by electric storage water heaters, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting the environment and preventing deceptive practices.
It applies to the following products: Electric storage water heaters with an input rating of up to 12 kW.
It does not apply to:
1. Appliances used to heat water in laboratories;
2. Appliances for boiling water;
3. Instantaneous water heaters;
4. Immersion water heaters;
5. Commercial dispensers and vending machines;
6. Appliances intended exclusively for industrial purposes.
