The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by exercise books^[1], prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human health and safety and preventing deceptive practices.

It applies to exercise books, regardless of the system used to bind the sheets of paper.

It does not apply to corporate, business, promotional or advertising notebooks, or diaries. Note[1]: Although exercise books tend to be used mainly in school activities and by students, they can also be used for other purposes in business, trade and industry, etc.
