The purpose of the notified Technical Regulation is to establish the minimum technical requirements to be met by string lights, Christmas decorations and decorative items for domestic use with a rated voltage not exceeding 120 V in accordance with Executive Decree No. 36979-MEIC, Regulation to formalize the Costa Rican Electrical Code for the Safety of Life and Property (RTCR No. 458:2011), to be used or marketed in the national market, whether domestic or imported. "Seasonal use" means that the product is set up and used for no longer than 90 days.
