General standard for food for the elderly

National Food Safety Standard of the P.R.C.: General Standard for Food for the Elderly

This standard applies to the food for elderly people who have chewing and (or) deglutition difficulties and malnutrition. The food for elderly can be divided into three categories based on the physiological characteristics of the elderly, the easy-to-eat food (for the elderly with chewing and swallowing function declining), nutrition formula food and the nutritional supplement food for elderly. It specifies the definitions, the technical requirements and detection methods for the food for elderly.
