The notified protocol establishes the safety certification procedure for chainsaws for cutting wood designed for use by one person, with a single-phase power supply with a voltage not more than 250 V AC and not more than 75 V DC (battery-operated, Annexes K and L), and a rated input not more than 3,700 W. The chainsaws covered by this standard are designed only to be operated with the right hand on the rear handle and the left hand on the front handle.
