The notified proposed regulations expand and provide greater details about the classes of food that can be irradiated, as well as the associated technological purposes, including a clearer and more comprehensive table of maximum doses. Article 175.3 of the Food Health Regulations provides that the purpose of the process and the average dose of irradiation that the respective food may receive, according to the authorized purpose, shall be established by resolution of the Ministry of Health.
