Processed animal products

Establece productos de origen animal que no requieren visto bueno del SAG para su ingreso a Chile y deroga Resolución 3081 de 2006 (Establishment of the animal products not requiring approval by the SAG for entry into Chile, and repeal of Resolution No. 3081 of 2006) Language(s): Spanish Number of pages: 2

The following processed animal products shall not need to be submitted to the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) in order to enter into Chile:

a.    All processed milk products, in all varieties and forms (including infant formula), with the exception of liquid milk, milk powder, cheese, butter, creams, yoghurts, butterfats and anhydrous milk fats, which must come from plants authorized by the SAG and comply with the respective specific sanitary requirements;

 

b.    All confectionery products such as chocolate, biscuits, pastries, cakes, confectionery mixes and premixes, ice cream, frozen desserts and cereals with milk;

 

c.    Powdered products for cooking such as bases, soups, dehydrated cream soups, broths, sauces, dressings, mayonnaise, condiments and derivatives in all varieties and forms;

 

d.    Processed fats and their derivatives such as lard and margarine (which include milk as an ingredient) in all varieties and forms, for human consumption, with the exception of pig fat, edible pig skin and raw bovine fat, which must comply with the specific sanitary requirements and their respective sanitary certification be submitted;

e.    Pasteurized, dehydrated or powdered egg products and their derivatives in any form;

f.     By-products of wool washing and their derivatives such as lanolin;

g.    Wet-blue, pickled, tanned or semi-tanned bovine, equine, ovine and porcine hides, for which only the transport conditions shall be verified. These products must be transported from their establishment of origin to their destination in Chile in vehicles or compartments that ensure hygiene and health conditions are maintained;

h.    Pastas and all products filled with milk products as their only livestock ingredient, ready for consumption, such as pies, pizzas, lasagne and other pastas filled with vegetables.

The notified text also repeals Exempt Resolution No. 3081 of 2006 exempting certain products containing ingredients of animal origin from the submission of production process monographs, as well as the amendments thereto.
