Amendment and repeal of regulations issued by the Minister of the Environment in connection with changes to the list of waste

The Regulation is complemented by general principles for waste sampling in order to improve the reliability of waste classification and to harmonise practices between waste management operators. The bases for the assessment of hazardous properties are also specified, bringing the references in the Regulation into conformity with the applicable European Union legislation and ensuring that the classification of waste is always based on up-to-date criteria.
As an important amendment, the list of waste will be supplemented with new eight-digit waste codes, which will enable the types of waste to be described in more detail than before and improve the quality of the data collected on waste streams and the quality of waste reporting. In addition, the specified lists of waste from products of concern and metal waste will be consolidated into a single list of waste and the respective separate regulations will be repealed, thereby reducing regulatory fragmentation.

A comments field will also be added to the waste register, in which certain types of waste will be marked with a note to indicate any special requirements for their management.
