Guidelines for the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in public administration pursuant to the Prime Ministerial Decree 12 January 2024, setting out the “Three-year plan for IT in public administration 2024–2026”
Definition of Guidelines for the Adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration in Implementation of the Prime Ministerial Decree 12 January 2024, on the procedures for adopting Artificial Intelligence systems, with particular reference to regulatory compliance and organisational impact.
The text consists of a) a first part (chapters 3–6) which addresses horizontal organisational and governance aspects, introduces the fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence, defines the organisational model for its adoption in the Public Administration and sets out the compliance requirements for solutions, as well as the principles of ethical governance b) a second part (chapters 7–11) which addresses vertical areas such as: communication, skills development, data management and quality, personal data protection and cybersecurity, as enabling factors for the effective, secure and responsible adoption of AI.
The text is accompanied by supporting documents called ‘Tools’. The Tools are operational documents designed to support the implementation of the Guidelines and are intended to ensure continuous updating in line with regulatory and technological developments and emerging best practices; they are updated periodically and published in a dedicated section of the AgID website.
