The Swedish Gambling Authority’s regulations on the national self-exclusion register

Licensees offering games that require registration in accordance with Chapter 12, Section 1 of the Gambling Act (2018:1138) are obliged under the gambling regulation to check whether a person is suspended from gambling in the national self-exclusion register (Spelpaus.se) when a player registers, logs into the gambling system, and ahead of direct marketing. In connection with decisions to grant a licence, the licensee is allocated unique connection details to Spelpaus.se. When the licensee is to make a check in Spelpaus.se, there are three different Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to choose from. The Draft contains rules stipulating that licensees must use their unique connection details when checking Spelpaus.se, and that they must use the API intended for checking the register.
