Slowakei food of animal origin
Draft Regulation of the Government of the Slovak Republic amending Regulation of the Government of the Slovak Republic No 359/2011 laying down requirements for certain food establishments and for small quantities
The draft Government Regulation increases the limit on the quantity of wild game that a hunting reserve user may sell to the final consumer or supply to a local retail establishment to a maximum of 50 % of the carcasses of wild game hunted in the hunting reserve per year. After consultation with representatives of hunting reserve users, it was proposed to increase the 30 % limit to 50 % of the carcasses of actually hunted wild game, without limiting the possibility to supply the carcasses of actually hunted wild game to processing establishments. Since, in practice, consumer demand for game meat is many times higher and hunting reserve users wish to supply high-quality, fresh game meat to final consumers, a compromise increase of the currently permitted limit has been proposed.
At the same time, obsolete provisions concerning requirements for the special health mark and national market restrictions on meat from animals that have undergone emergency slaughter are deleted, and, based on implementation feedback, the provision on hygiene requirements for small quantities of poultry meat is clarified. The requirement for the special health mark and national market restrictions on meat from animals that have undergone emergency slaughter were repealed by Commission Regulation (EU) No 218/2014 of 7 March 2014 amending Annexes to Regulations (EC) No 853/2004 and (EC) No 854/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Commission Regulation (EC) No 2074/2005 (OJ L 69, 8.3.2014), as amended, which is directly applicable; for this reason, those requirements are deleted from the Government Regulation.
