AMA Quality Seal Guideline for Processed and Finished Products – Amendment

The AMA Quality Seal Guideline for Processed and Finished Products is amended as follows:

• Editorial adjustments:
- Deletion of requirements for products for which separate guidelines now exist (honey, milled and peeled products, baked goods, and baking mixes)
- Update of references to amended legislation
• Adaptation of definitions
• Ban on the use of insects, insect larvae, and products derived from them as ingredients in AMA Quality Seal products
• Exceptions to the obligation to use products from the region indicated on the seal: only small quantities, no exception for primary ingredients
• Adjustments and clarifications regarding product analyses: Frequency of inspections, time of testing
• Inclusion of requirements for plant-based drinks: Definition, ban on the use of preservatives, colourings, and flavourings, restriction of processing aids and additives, establishment of monitoring systems for contaminants and pesticides, microbiological criteria, chemical/physical criteria, sensory criteria
