Meat and dairy products produced under the national food quality scheme

Draft Order of the Minister for Agriculture amending Order No 3D-351 of the Minister for Agriculture of 20 May 2022 approving the rules on the National Food Quality System and repealing certain orders of the Minister for Agriculture

The draft Order amends two annexes to the Rules approved by Order No 3D-351 of the Minister of Agriculture of 20 May 2022 on the Approval of the Rules of the National Food Quality System and the Annulment of Certain Orders of the Minister of Agriculture, which set out the specifications of meat and milk products. The purpose of the amendment is to provide for an alternative to the requirement to graze livestock for 120 days per year in the sections of the specification for meat and dairy products that contain the requirements for products bearing the “Quality” label. An alternative requirement is that the operator must ensure that the livestock (cattle) kept in the barn are allowed to go out into the open (motion grounds (day-houses), pastures) and that freshly cut grass is made available to them for fodder for at least 120 days per year.
