DRAFT ROYAL DECREE REGULATING THE DISTRIBUTION, PRESCRIPTION, DISPENSING AND USE OF VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCTS

Chapter I lays down the provisions of general application, such as the aim, definitions, scope, incompatibilities regime and prohibited activities.

Chapter II describes legally recognised medicinal products, establishing the conditions of use of antimicrobial medicinal products according to the risk their use in animals pose to public health.
Chapter III deals with the distribution of veterinary medicinal products.
Chapter IV is devoted to the dispensing of medicines. It sets out the requirements and obligations to carry out retail activity in Spain
Chapter V details the conditions for sale at a distance to the public of veterinary medicinal products not subject to prescription.
Chapter VI sets out the requirements for the supply of veterinary medicinal products through information society services.
Chapter VII covers both the prescription conditions and the requirements to be met by veterinary professionals in the performance of their duties.
Chapter VIII sets out the obligations of owners of livestock holdings in relation to the prudent use of veterinary medicinal products.
Chapter IX lays down the provisions relating to residues, and Chapter X the surveillance and sanctioning regime.
