The purpose of this Technical Specification is to lay down the general provisions for the laying and maintenance of a jointed rail track and concerns tracks which have been or are to be laid by rails interlocking. The purpose of this Technical Specification is specifically:
• the determination of the required spaces between the joints, depending on the laying temperature of the rails,
• the laying in curves when equalising rails are used, and
• the adjustment of spaces as joint-specific maintenance work.
This Technical Specification applies to standard gauge lines.
