Approval of eighty-two (82) Hellenic Technical Specifications (HTS), the application of which is mandatory in all public works and studies.

The purpose of this Technical Specification is to lay down the requirements for the construction of the standard gauge rail tracks ballast.
This Technical Specification shall apply in the case of laying new rail lines and in the case of upgrade/renewal of existing lines.
This Technical Specification does not apply to the construction of auxiliary railway lines, such as temporary variants, etc.
The construction works of the rail tracks ballast included herein are the following:
a) Pre-pitching
b) Laying of the line and
c) Pitching
Works for the construction of rail tracks ballast, which are not included herein but are subject to other technical specifications, are the following:
a) Securing of axis line
b) Rail welding
f) Formation of ballast cross-section
d) Laying of switches and other line devices
e) Rail tracks horizontal and vertical alignment and adjustment
