DRAFT ROYAL DECREE REGULATING CERTAIN HYGIENE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PRODUCTION AND MARKETING OF FOODSTUFFS IN RETAIL ESTABLISHMENTS

The purpose of this Royal Decree is to establish the basic regulations in relation to:

a) the hygiene requirements for the production, processing, transport, storage and marketing of foodstuffs in retail establishments, without detriment to the application of the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs and Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin.
b) adaptations in retail establishments to relax the requirements set out in the Annexes to Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 and Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004.
