The Order covers products that fall under:
1) Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
2) Safety, control and regulating devices intended for use outside a potentially explosive atmosphere but which are necessary or which contribute to the safe operation of equipment and protective systems in the event of explosion risks.
3) Components intended for incorporation into equipment and protective systems as referred to in point 1.
Order on products for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The Order lays down obligations for manufacturers, authorised representatives, importers and distributors of products covered by point 6. The Order also lays down requirements for the products and the use of the products at fairs. The Order brings together the rules from Order No 1305 of 23 November 2015 on the fitting-out, etc. of equipment and protective systems for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and Order No 289 of 17 March 2016 on electrical equipment and electrical protective systems for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, but does not lay down new requirements for the products. Thus, the legislation in force is not amended, but the amendment is due to new issuance pursuant to Act No 799 of 2020 on products and market surveillance with a view to harmonising product rules under this Act.
