Accessory devices for taximeters

The Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment and General Advice on Accessory Devices for Taximeters

Regulations on accessory devices already exist (STAFS 2012:5) (uploaded as other document). These have previously been notified as technical rules. The draft regulation includes some changes to the existing provisions. The changes that are deemed to be of the greatest importance are:
- the serial number of the receipts/delivery bills produced for instalments during a driving assignment shall be the same and accompanied by the serial number of the instalment; and

- the accessory device need not be designed in such a way that it also prints a receipt or delivery bill in paper form, if it has a function for producing the documents electronically, in addition to the function for production in paper form.
The regulations on accessory devices are a national initiative. It follows from point 4 of Annex IX of the Measuring Instruments Directive (Directive 2014/32/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of measuring instruments) that Member States may require an accessory device to be connected to the interface of a taximeter.
