Sanitary veterinary and food safety rules on the veterinary and food safety conditions when the processing of raw milk not meeting the criteria for the total number of plate count may be carried out

Draft Order amending and supplementing Order No 168/2014 of the Chairman of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority on approving the sanitary veterinary and food safety rules on the veterinary and food safety conditions when the processing of raw milk not meeting the criteria for the total number of plate count laid down in Section IX of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin may be carried out

The project shall allow the selling for human consumption, notwithstanding the compliance with the objectives of he Regulation, of cheeses requiring an ageing or ripening period of at least 60 days and of dairy products obtained by producing such cheeses from raw cow’s milk not complying with the criteria laid down in Section IX of Annex III on the content of plate count and somatic cell count.
Modification of the definition of the raw material milk processor as well as of the milk processing centre integrated / belonging to the farm.Cheeses with a long ageing or ripening period of at least 60 days and dairy products resulting from the manufacturing process of these cheeses, obtained in the milk processing centres with sanitary and veterinary registration from raw non-compliant milk, as defined in art. 2 f), shall be labelled in accordance with the legislation in force.
