The purpose of this Technical Specification is to lay down the requirements for the installation of lawn planting on slopes using the method of hydroseeding.
Hydroseeding improves soils of moderate fertility with ingredients that create favourable conditions for the commencement of microbial activity which are then enriched with organic ingredients.
Lawn planting on slopes contributes to their protection against surface corrosion and achieves:

 The aesthetic restoration of a landscape project which has been degraded by construction

 Avoiding the immediate impact of rain on the slopes resulting in erosion of granular soils and condensation of clay soils

 The increase of the filtering capacity of the surface through the effect of the roots

 The containment of the organic matter generated

 The creation of conditions that facilitate and accelerate further physical restoration

 The creation of more favourable soil conditions by maintaining and improving soil fertility for future plantings

 The reduction of the impact of wind and surface run-off via the combined effect of foliage–roots

 The strengthening of the stability of the surfaces through the effect of the roots linking soil granules (functioning as tensile reinforcement)

 The reduction of the surface drying of the soil and the improvement of its response to frost and contraction-expansion effects.
