The purpose of this Technical Specification is to define the requirements for the linear structures concrete casting using slipform pavers, i.e.:
• lined drainage channels, kerb channels or curved channels and Jersey barriers
• rectangular or curved low-section irrigation channels
• enclosed channels, low side walls and constructions of a similar kind, nature and dimensions
NOTE: These elements are generally described as ‘three-dimensional’, as opposed to all concrete floors (road surfaces, platform crowns, ground plates), which can also be paved with mechanical equipment (pavers - finishers).
The required mechanical equipment and the characteristics of the concrete are different for the above two categories of structures.
