Methodology for calculating the energy performance of buildings, reference Mc 001/2006 (review)

Methodology for calculating the energy performance of buildings, indicative Mc001/2006 (review)

Purpose of the technical regulation: Mc001-Methodology for calculating the energy performance of buildings covers many aspects, notably including:

• assessment and certification of the energy performance of buildings for various categories of buildings:
new and existing — single-family/collective residential buildings, office buildings, educational buildings, hospitals, crèches, polyclinics, hotels and restaurants, sports buildings and buildings for wholesale and retail trade services, buildings with other destinations and human occupation to which at least heating, consumer hot water and lighting are provided, and for building units of all these, including apartments;
• energy audits of buildings to be upgraded;
• setting minimum performance requirements for existing and new, NZEB buildings;
• define the usual measures and packages of measures that can be applied to increase the energy performance of existing buildings/building units and determine how to quantify the costs associated with these measures;
• presentation of minimum energy performance requirements for existing renovated residential and non-residential buildings or for NZEBs.
Scope of the Mc001 Methodology:
• assessment and certification of the energy performance of existing and new, NZEB (NZEB)
buildings/building units;
• assessment and certification of the energy performance of apartments;
• thermal and energy analysis, and writing up of the corresponding energy audit, of buildings that are to receive thermal/energy upgrades.
The methodology is structured as follows:
CHAPTER 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS
CHAPTER 2. THERMAL ENVELOPING OF THE BUILDING
CHAPTER 3. EVALUATING THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF INSTALLATION SYSTEMS WITHOUT RENEWABLES
CHAPTER 4. ASSESSMENT OF ENERGY PRODUCED WITH INSTALLATION SYSTEMS USING RENEWABLE SOURCES
CHAPTER 5. ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE
CHAPTER 6. ENERGY AUDIT
