- disposable plastic products
Draft Act amending Act No. 79/2015 Coll. on Waste and on Amendments to Certain Acts as amended and supplementing Act No. 302/2019 Coll. on the backing up of disposable packaging for beverages and on amendments to certain laws, as amended
The draft Act lays down new definitions and obligations for manufacturers of certain plastic products in accordance with the Directive in order to meet its objectives. The primary concern is to reduce and, in some cases, eliminate the serious negative impact of certain disposable plastic products on the environment, health and the economy, as well as the promotion of circular economy approaches. The new definitions specify what is considered to be a plastic product and fishing gear, who is the manufacturer of such products, what are biodegradable plastics and tobacco products, as well as other definitions. The draft Act concerns a set of measures aimed at reducing the consumption of certain disposable plastic products, e.g. the provision of
disposable plastic products only for payment or the obligation of public event organisers to provide suitable alternatives.
