Control of milk

Order No WJZ/20153739 of the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of [date] amending the Animal Products Order in connection with the amendment of the method for controlling farm milk

The amendment of Article 2.42 of the Animal Products Order makes it possible to apply the renewed research method which will allow for better implementation of Regulation (EU) No 37/2010 on pharmacologically active substances and their classification regarding maximum residue limits in foodstuffs of animal origin, as more detailed analyses can be carried out.

The use of mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) makes it possible to identify each antibiotic present in a sample, as well as to determine its exact concentration. This also allows for better verification of correct compliance with the use of veterinary medicines and may give rise to the establishment of a cause analysis.
This renewed research method makes it possible to measure legally established (EU) maximum residue limits for all antibiotics in the event of samples with demonstrable growth inhibition.
