Devices for the recharging of electric vehicles
The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's regulations and general advice on equipment for the recharging of electric vehicles
In order to implement new provisions of the EU Energy Performance Directive, requirements for the recharging of electric vehicles were introduced in May 2020 into Chapter 8, § 4, first paragraph, point 11 of the Planning and Building Act (2010:900) on construction works. This is specified in Chapter 3, §§ 20 b - c of the Planning and Building Ordinance (2011:338), where requirements under certain conditions are imposed partly on recharging points for the recharging of electric vehicles and partly on ducting infrastructure for such recharging.
The requirements apply to parking spaces in buildings and to plots for buildings.
To clarify what the requirements mean, the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning has now produced draft regulations and general advice that will specify the meaning of certain concepts in the Ordinance and clarify which technical requirements the recharging points and ducting infrastructure will meet and how the recharging points are to be positioned.
