Order on licensing and registration of food businesses, etc.
The Order amends the quantity limits for primary producers’ direct supply of food of animal origin (poultry and eggs) to final consumers and local retail establishments (see Article 1(3)(c) and (d) of Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin).
Under the Order, it will now be possible for primary producers themselves to eviscerate domestic poultry, farmed feathered game, and rabbits on their farms. In addition, primary producers may engage mobile enterprises to assist them on their farms in the slaughtering, plucking/skinning, and evisceration of domestic poultry, farmed feathered game, and rabbits. Such mobile enterprises are required to register for this activity.
