Draft Regulation on the assessment of the competence of approved experts

The Regulation would specify to what extent the standards SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17021, applicable pursuant to the proposed § 67 of the Vehicles Act, would be applied to the assessment of the competence of approved experts. The Regulation would specify the applicable versions of these standards. In accordance with paragraph 2 of the Regulation, the requirements of standard SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories are to apply to the assessment of the competence of approved experts to assess the conformity of product categories HA and HC. The application of the previous standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 to assessments of competence carried out before 1 December 2020 would also be permissible. In accordance with paragraph 3 of the Regulation, the requirements of standard SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 are to apply to the assessment of the competence of approved experts to assess the conformity of production of category HA.
