The Regulation shall apply to the construction and fittings of category T and C vehicles (tractors), motorised machinery and off-road vehicles, their trailers, road tractor trailers, towed devices designed to be connected to vehicles other than cars, and vehicles drawn by animals.

The Regulation is related to the project of the Ministry of Transport and Communications LVM002:00/2019 (comprehensive reform of the Vehicles Act).

The purpose of the Regulation is to make the necessary amendments to the current Regulation on the construction and fittings of tractors, motorised machinery and off-road vehicles, their trailers, towed devices designed to be connected to vehicles other than cars, and vehicles drawn by animals (TRAFI/605526/03.04.03.00/2018) due to changes in legislation. The current Regulation will be amended as regards reflective markings permitted on the booms or bucket arms of the motorised machinery, amongst other aspects. The Regulation will introduce new provisions on the division of the motorised machinery and off-road vehicles into variants and versions and limits on the application of requirements for the maximum intensity of the reverse alarm on an off-road vehicle. In addition, the legal basis for the brake requirements for tractor trailers, amongst other aspects, will be updated in the project.
