The obligations relating to document registration and information that, on the grounds of public safety, natural or legal persons offering accommodation and motor-vehicle rental services are required to satisfy, are being updated.
The persons affected include both those providing the services directly and anyone providing intermediary services (web portals).
Draft Royal Decree setting out the obligations relating to document registration and information for natural or legal persons offering accommodation and motor-vehicle rental services.
This measure is intended to regulate the document registration and information requirements provided for in public safety regulations applicable to natural or legal persons offering accommodation or motor-vehicle rental services with or without drivers, professionally or otherwise. It involves updating the registration and information tools relating to said services with a view to combating serious crime and terrorism, as well as guaranteeing better control of the players involved in these businesses on safety grounds.
It shall be applied throughout the country to accommodation and motor-vehicle hire businesses, regardless of type, operator form and organisational model.
Specifically, it covers the specific information to be included in guest registration forms in accommodation establishments and service sheets in the case of vehicle rental businesses, as well as the form and means for sending this information to the competent authorities, in all cases in accordance with prevailing personal data protection law.
Finally, it covers the sanctions regime applicable in the event of non-compliance with the provisions of the draft.
