Documents about certain registration objects such as soil surveys and groundwater monitoring wells must be provided in order for subsurface data to be entered in a key register of the subsurface.

Order amending the Order on the Key Register of the Subsurface in connection with the addition of registration objects and the appointment of a manager

This draft Order contains rules for implementing the Act on the Key Register of the Subsurface [Wet basisregistratie ondergrond] and the Decree on the Key Register of the Subsurface [Besluit basisregistratie ondergrond]. The Act provides for the creation of a key register of the subsurface consisting of a digital map with detailed information about the subsurface of the Netherlands. On the basis of this Act, source data owners designated therein are required to submit certain subsurface data (of certain registration objects) for inclusion in the Key Register. This second phase specifically concerns the registration objects Drilling Survey Geotechnical Drilling Sample Description, Drilling Survey Geotechnical Drilling Sample Analysis, Wall Survey Pedological Wall Description, Soil Map, Geomorphological Map, Hydrogeological Model, GeoTop and Digital Geological Model.

This draft Order establishes the data catalogue that describes the manner in which the information is to be provided. Parts F and H of the draft regulation contain rules for the creation of the Key Register of the Subsurface. These rules may constitute technical regulations. They relate to the data catalogue for the data to be entered in the Key Register of the Subsurface (Article 11 and Annex II to the Order on the Key Register of the Subsurface);

Article 15 of the Order on the Key Register of the Subsurface contains a provision on mutual recognition.
