Ordinance on administering anaesthesia with isoflurane in the castration of piglets by qualified persons (Piglet Anaesthesia Competence Ordinance [Ferkelbetäubungssachkundeverordnung - FerkBetSachkV])
The Ordinance provides for the lifting of the veterinary restriction on administering anaesthesia with isoflurane during piglet castration. It allows anaesthesia to be administered by the farmer or other qualified persons. It also lays down requirements for the veterinary medicinal product, the places where the anaesthesia is to be administered, the anaesthesia equipment, the procedure for castrating piglets under anaesthesia and, in particular, for obtaining proof of competence.
