Operation of vehicles and their systems, components and separate technical units in road traffic

Implementing Decree of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic amending Implementing Decree No 134/2018 of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic laying down the details of the operation of vehicles in road traffic

The draft Implementing Decree amends Implementing Decree No 134/2018 of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic laying down the details of the operation of vehicles in road traffic, which was notified in accordance with Directive (EU) 2015/1535 as Notification 2017/0599/SK.

The purpose of the draft Implementing Decree is to address certain shortcomings revealed by the application of the Implementing Decree:

a) to abolish the expiration date for first aid kits so that first aid kits can be kept in vehicles as part of the mandatory equipment even after their use-by date,

b) to specify more closely the meaning of the expression ‘heavily affected visibility from the driver’s seat’,

c) to lay down that bicycles and scooters fitted with an auxiliary motor are not deemed to be vehicles that can be classified as category L vehicles.
