Making-up by weight or by volume

Order implementing the Decree on the making-up by weight or by volume of certain prepackaged products

These drafts determine:

- the requirements for manufacturing prepackages according to defined criteria in order to ensure the quantity of product supplied;

- the inscription and marking requirements in order to inform the consumer of the quantity supplied and to identify the operators by the inspection services.

They specify the necessary self-inspections required by businesses and their employees to ensure the quantity of product contained in the prepackaging and they develop inspection methodologies for the competent inspection services, allowing for all fraudulent practices to be detected, quantified and qualified. Compliance with the criteria for manufacturing prepackages can be checked at all stages of marketing (importation, production, distribution, etc.). Finally, they provide for the possibility for non-compliant products to be brought into compliance.
