Flemish Government Decree amending the Royal Decree of 27 April 2007 setting out recognition conditions for facilities for animals and conditions on the sale of animals, with regard to the dimensions of animal units
The minimum standards for keeping animals in pet shops, as specified in Annex IV to the Royal Decree of 27 April 2007 setting out recognition conditions for facilities for animals and conditions on the sale of animals in the territory of Flanders, are replaced with Annex 1 to the draft.
The following amendments have been made:
- At the recommendation of the Flemish Animal Welfare Council, the text stipulates that a sand bath
must be provided for gerbils, degus and chinchillas;
- The standards for cages, vivariums and aquariums for keeping small rodents, rabbits, reptiles
and fish have been adjusted or clarified in line with expert recommendations.
